The Two Types Of Interviews

There are two types of interviews; Traditional and Competency, most of us have not even experienced the later, however in 2012 Competency based interviews have become the preferred style for HR Managers.

What's the difference between the two?

Traditional interview structures usually involve an HR manager asking a series of questions with the objective of finding out whether your skill base and educational background match the requirements for the position that the candidate has applied for.

CBI interviews require you to justify your experience and demonstrate how your educational background could be applied in various presented scenarios. Key areas that CBI interviews examine are; personnel, interpersonal, motivational, decision making, people and organisational.
