As an Author, I am creative and always try and invent new inventive ways to help you learn. This is a fantastic lesson plan that has been designed to help you develop your conversational skills and provide you with more confidence.

Topic: Your Novel



Time: 1 hour



Objective: this lesson has been designed to improve your conversational skills, you will be presented with various scenarios throughout the story and your conversational skills will be put to the test.



The Story



Your name is ........., you work in Madrid, and have done so for the last 10 years. Due to the economic crisis, you have decided to take a year off from work and move to London where you will be presented with new challenges. The story tracks you from the decision to leave to your return to Spain.



Chapter 1



The Decision



You are at a coffee shop in Madrid, it's the morning and you have an hour before you start work. The papers are reporting more stories on the state of the Economy. You suddenly spot an article in the paper about moving to a new country and creating new opportunity. At that precise moment you decide that you will take a year off work and move to London.



Phone your Boss:



Tell him/ her that you will not be coming into work today, that you have made a decision to take a year off. You will arrange a time and date to meet and finalise everything.



Phone your Sister/ Brother:



Inform them of your intention to move.



Phone your best friend:



Inform them of your intention, and that you would like them to visit you when you are settled.





















Chapter 2



The arrangements



Having spoken to work, your best friend and family members, you proceed to contact a travel agent to book your tickets and secure your accommodation.

Find out about health care whilst you are away



Taxi Firm



Book a taxi to transit to the airport and then phone a taxi firm in the UK to secure transit from Kings Cross station to your destination.



Chapter 3



Transit



The doorbell rings, you answer.....it's your taxi driver, he has arrived at your house and is ready to take you to the Airport. Your adventure begins!

Speak to him, find out how long the journey will take, where he will be dropping you off etc.
