Scenarios

 Lesson Plan

Topic: conversation 5

Time 1 hour

Objective: to develop vocabulary, make the student think in a second language and improve pronunciation.
Scene: you are in a restaurant with some friends, you suddenly spot an old friend. Approach and converse!

Questions to help you get started:

I haven't seen you for ages
How are you?
Are you still living in....?
Where are you working?

Tell them about yourself: use the questions above as a basis to respond!

At this point you want to know if your friend would like to join you at the table with your friends..... How would you ask him?

How would you introduce your friend to the rest of the group? You are with 3 friends at the table: Tom, Sarah and Talia

Make up a name for your long lost friend and introduce him....

You need to catch up with your friend:

Which area are you living in?
Are you here on business?
How often do you come to his area?
How are his parents, family?
When is he next in the area?

Now set up a date when you can meet!

Summary: practice using different scenarios, helps to develop confidence in the English language. My scenarios are often based on the type of work that you do. In this lesson you will change your character to either Tom, Sarah, Talia or even the waitress at the restaurant requiring you to react in different ways.
