Conversation

As a teacher, the most significant challenge is to get you to talk. Most students improve their skills with practice, confidence is a key factor in this improvement. Skype is an effective learning tool for a conversational based class. It allows me to type words into a text box on your screen throughout the class, these notes are stored and can be accessed by you at any point in time and from multiple computers and devices.

To help with pronunciation, words are broken down and altered to show you a similar sounding word or words. A good example of this would be in the sound of the letter; " r " and it's comparative sound of; " are ".

Here are more questions used to encourage conversation in one of my classes, remember that better pronunciation presents clarity in your speech and the ability to be understood. If you have mastered grammar and structures but you are still unable to speak then you will need to master this element to complete your learning process.

I think it's important to mention at this point that just finding a stranger to exchange languages is good but not always effective. A teacher can identify those areas that require attention in your conversation, they are trained professionals who will help you to reach your goals more effectively and precisely. Although there is a cost, it will be a worthwhile investment in your future. Language exchange does not account for regional accents, formal and informal structures nor does it incorporate Business English often required for job interviews, promotions and the creation of career opportunities.

Here are some questions that focus on conversational skills;

What is the worst purchase that you have made and why?
What is the most embarrassing song that you own in your collection?
What was the best holiday that you have been on and why?
